StayWell Hospitality Group, the owner and operator of the Park Regis and Leisure Inn brands today announced a new agreement to operate an international 4 star hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Scheduled to open in the first half of 2011, Park Regis Kuala Lumpur will be StayWell Hospitality Group's first hotel to open in Malaysia.

The property's owner, Taragon Capital Malaysia Sdn Bhd (a member company of Bluestone Group Malaysia), has engaged StayWell Hospitality Group's experienced team to provide management services for the hotel both throughout its development and from the date of opening.

The hotel is centrally located in Kuala Lumpur's Golden Triangle adjacent to Berjaya Times Square, Chinatown and Jalan Bukit Bintang, and less than 1 kilometre from the city centre. The brand new 27 storey hotel will comprise 445 rooms generously sized from 35sqm to 120.3sqm - including Studios, One and Two Bedroom Suites and Presidential Suites, all with unique and stylish interior designs.

Park Regis Kuala Lumpur's key features and services will include conference and banquet facilities, seminar rooms and a business centre and business lounge spanning over two levels, restaurant and bar, swimming pool, fully-equipped gym and sauna and a security car park for 133 vehicles. The Group's Chief Executive Officer, Mr Simon Wan, said that the latest announcement is particularly exciting as it reinforces StayWell Hospitality Group's international expansion strategy.

"Malaysia, with Kuala Lumpur in particular, is such a vibrant destination - quite fitting as the latest location for a Park Regis property to launch. We are very excited about the addition of this property as this represents a strategic geographic location for our hotel network in the region, particularly considering the soon to open Park Regis hotels in Singapore and Dubai.

"In addition to Park Regis Kuala Lumpur, we are currently in the process of finalising arrangements for additional hotels in Asia and the Middle East. The expansion of StayWell Hospitality Group's portfolio of properties has certainly picked up pace over the last 9 months and I have no doubt we'll soon be a significant player in the market - particularly in the Asia/Pacific region," he said.

StayWell Hospitality Group's portfolio currently stands at a total of 24 properties which includes locations in Australian capital cities - Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Hobart - as well as regional areas such as Launceston, Hunter Valley, Blue Mountains, Cairns and Townsville. Park Regis Singapore and Park Regis Kris Kin, Dubai are currently under development, with an opening date expected for both in October/November 2010.
